I found an 1884 Albion College Medal (Medalion) while metal detecting just north of Auburn which is between Midland and Bay City, Michigan, in a ball field owned by a Lutheran Church. I assumed that it was copper because of its color but I'm really not sure. I learned of its history from your web site about photographing medals in Colorado classroom. It was of interest to because both my grandfather and father worked at the RR car barn west of Albion before the RR went out of business. a couple of years ago you talked to my wife Phyllis on the phone, we were in the cemetary looking for Charles Billinghurst grave. You told us where to look but that there was no grave stone. The more we talked about this the more it concerened we became. On a recent trip to Monroe we visted Charlie again and decided sometning dhould be done for him. We went to the Jackson Monument co. and got the price for everything requried to give Charlie a prpoper stone. my wife and I are willing to pay the entire cost. During my living history talks about the buffalo hunters I use Charlie as an example that thease men were not the dregges of society as hollywood shows them but bussinessmen who helped open the plains for settlement. Cody and Dixion even earned the Medal of Honor. So I think its time to give Charlie his stone, he is a hero and should not lie in unmarked grave. It just is not right. Let us know what we need to do next. we have quotes from the monument co on some simple stones, and we can even have a buffalo put on it. Look forward to hearing from you.\n");
